Eligibility & Rent

Cypress Gardens is an affordable housing development for seniors and persons with disabilities, offering three rent levels based on income. Moderate Income units, which make up 30% of the building, are priced according to CMHC’s Affordable Market Rent and are available to households earning between $44,000 and $82,310 annually.

Half of the units are Rent Geared to Income (RGI), with rent set at 30% of gross income for those earning between $21,946 and $44,000, following BC Housing’s Housing Income Limits. The remaining 20% are Deep Subsidy units for households with incomes under $21,946, typically those receiving income assistance or relying solely on Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Support.
