The Comox Valley Affordable Housing Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and other related programs to the members of our community. In operation for over 40 years, our society has a long history of helping to support people living in the CVRD. We believe that stable, secure, and safe housing, is a building block for every aspect of a healthy life. Having a warm place to lay your head and call your own is imperative to a persons physical and mental health. In this ever changing economy, non-profit housing and other housing related programs have truly become more necessary than ever. With cost of living only increasing, the demand for subsidized/affordable housing and related supports has skyrocketed - and it is our job to continue to provide more homes and resources for the people who need them

North Island Rent Bank
The Comox Valley & North Island Rent Bank is a program that provides loans to low-to-moderate income renters who are facing housing instability - if you or someone you know is unable to pay their rent this month, or need assistance coming up with money for a damage deposit, we are here to help
Rent banks are more than lenders. They are housing stability and homelessness prevention resources. They work with clients experiencing financial shocks and housing insecurity, and they take a range of approaches to address these issues holistically; offering financial assistance and individualized support services to help tenants navigate their way out of the financial challenges that are putting their housing at risk, and towards housing stability.
Our rent bank serves clients from the Comox Valley Regional District, Strathcona Regional District, qathet Regional District, and Mt. Waddington Regional District.
